We’re tired of “doing” church Have you ever done something so many times that it becomes monotonous or worse yet, devoid of joy? Think of it, millions of Americans wake up every day, go to a job they’ve had for years, and then head home at the end of the day as if the last 8 hours was just a meaningless blur. Going to church can become that way. You show up on Sundays, sing a few songs, and go on with your life as if nothing happened. This is what we mean by “doing church.” You become a creature of mechanical habit acting out motions robbed of heartfelt intentionality and divine purpose. In other words, any notion of joy walked out the door years ago. Well, we’ve been there and we don’t want to go back. Now we’re on a journey together trusting that God will form us into a community whose beliefs, practices, and proclamations are saturated with the all-consuming love and truth of Jesus Christ. We don’t want to just “do church.” We want to be the church, a place of love, transformation, peace, and joy. We invite you to join us, to share in our journey, and to bear witness to the amazing love of our awesome God.
