David and his wife, LaVonne, have four adult children and four grandchildren. Transplanted Yankees, this couple has served in Michigan & Illinois before moving to North Carolina eleven years ago. He started two new churches, led congregations in the Mid-West, and serves with a national ministry that mentors pastors & churches. Two years ago the pastor and church volunteered to participate in a three year experiment to better focus the ministries of Chapel Hill Wesleyan Church. This process is helping the congregation form a specific Biblical Purpose, and intentionally seek God’s clear direction for the church. David is also a licensed real estate broker. This allows him many opportunities to meet & talk with people while serving them. He strongly believes that the church is a faith community where an inviting, accepting atmosphere is critical to the number one priority of real relationships with Christ & each other.
