Worship is the rhythm of life.
One Christian thinker put it like this: You were created to be in relationship with God and until you do so, you can expect your life to be off beat. When we worship God, our lives get back in sync with the natural rhythm built into this world by our Creator. Our souls find rest as we find ourselves in relationship with the one true God who is Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. In the gospel of John, Jesus tells a man named Nicodemus that God desires people who will worship in spirit and in truth. In other words, worship is when we allow every ounce of who we are to approach God and praise Him for who He is and what He has done.
What does this mean? It means that our church strives to plan worship services that help people authentically approach God with glad and thankful hearts. Some weeks we’ll pray in small groups for each other’s needs, celebrate the Lord’s supper, hear testimonies of God’s goodness, or recite ancient creeds hewn from the rich history of the Christian church. We’ll sing contemporary worship songs but also incorporate older hymns with a fresh twist. Each week we’ll hear one of our pastors deliver a relevant message grounded in the truth of God’s Word and designed to help you in your journey to grow in the power of Jesus Christ.
What do you have to do? Simply show up and expect God to meet you here. You don’t have to dress or talk a certain way. Just come as you are seeking out answers to your questions. We’ll learn together what it means to let worship put our life’s rhythm back on beat.
